Marta Arsovska-Tomovska - Minister of Information Society and Administration
Marta A. Tomovska was born on the 1st of March 1973 in Skopje. Completed secondary education at the “R. Ji. Korchagin” High School and acquired the title of graduate engineer at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies in Skopje.
Completed post-graduate studies in economy at the state Faculty of Economy in Skopje and currently is working on developing the master's thesis named “Modern trends in electronic commerce (mobile and social marketing) and consumers’ satisfaction”.
Fluent in English, partial knowledge of French and Russian.
In the past fifteen years of working experience, she held leading positions in the UNET (as manager of the first Internet service provider in the Republic of Macedonia), Ultra Computing (as sales and marketing manager) and ORKA (as chief designer), and acquired competences such as: general management, finance management, human resource management, product/service development management, sales and purchase (public procurement), marketing, project management in public sector, user support of public sector, Internet technologies and electronic communication, innovative development technologies, digital media, system integration, designing complex information systems, etc. Was a holder and took part in realization of numerous important projects such as: creation of the first electronic sales design and first electronic banking design in the Republic of Macedonia, design of a collaborative platform for digital media between companies from San Francisco and Republic of Macedonia, cooperation with the NTT Docomo Center for new technology research and development in Tokyo, Japan, initiated realization of the project for removing Macedonia from blacklists of insecure countries for Internet sale and contributed to establishment of Internet security culture in the Republic of Macedonia.
Arsovska- Tomovska was a chief architect on behalf of Macedonia in the project for establishing distance high education system between the Post-graduate Center for public policies and management, as a part of the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh, USA.
She was a member of the expert group for developing a strategy for the FWA/WIMAX electronic networks in the Republic of Macedonia, as well as for e-commerce development. Took part in major ICT projects implemented in the public sector and financed by the state budget and/or foreign donators and banks (USAID, World Bank, EAR): finance and treasury, budget management, one-stop-shop counter systems, health and pension insurance, hospital management, education management, justice etc. Great experience in implementing projects which involve products and services of world known companies, such as IBM, Oracle, HP, Cisco and other in the private sector, particularly in the telecommunication field. Was a presenter at national and international ICT conferences, such as MASIT Open Days, SEEITA, e-Society, Annual National Entrepreneurship and Competition Summit, etc. Took part in a number of workshops, including FP7 Framework of the European Commission, SEE Innovation Know How Transfer Event, as well as technological workshops organized by the greatest world ICT producers. Member of the committees of the Macedonian Informatics Association, ISOC (Internet Society) and Macedonian ICT cluster. Was a member of Macedonian state delegation to the greatest world Internet Governance Forum, regular attendant and participant in most significant world events, conferences, fairs and exhibitions in the ICT field, such as IBC Amsterdam, IEC Broadband World Forum Europe, ACM SIGGRAPH and many others. Awarded for achievements and special contribution to the IT industry in the Republic of Macedonia and enormous contribution in building Internet security culture in the Republic of Macedonia (USAID, Competition Project), as well as for contribution to the National Entrepreneurship and Competition Council.
She was also elected for the Top 10 manager of the year (by “Kapital” business magazine).
On August 1, 2011 Marta Arsovska Tomovska was appointed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia and elected by the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia as a Deputy Minister of information society and administration.
On November 11, 2015 Marta Arsovska Tomovska was appointed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia and elected by the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia as Minister of information society and administration.
