Edmond Ademi is Minister without portfolio in the Government of the Republic of Macedonia in charge of Diaspora Affairs

Born on June 29, 1975 in Tetovo.
Edmond Ademi graduated at the University of St. Cyril and Methodius - Faculty of Philosophy - Institute for Sociology - Skopje.

On 31 May 2017 Ademi was appointed Minister without Portfolio in the Government of the Republic of Macedonia. At the first session of the Government, on June 5, 2017, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia appointed Ademi Minister for Diaspora Relations.

From March to June 2016, in the time of the great migrant wave, he was appointed Sspecial Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Oliver Spasovski, with the task of coordinating the activities of the Ministry with the international community for dealing with the migrant crisis.

2011 to 2015 Ademi held the position of Executive Director of the Institute for Political and Economic Research "Liberta" - Skopje.
March 2009 to January 2011 - external Political Communication Specialist for the American consulting company Pen, Shoen, Berland from Washington.

September 2006 to March 2009 - US Embassy in Skopje, serving as a Specialist in Media and Public Diplomacy, and as a Personal Assistant of two US Ambassadors to Macedonia, Gillian A. Milovanovic, and Philip Reeker.

October 2005 to August 2006 - political Advisor to the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Macedonia.

June 2002 to October 2005 - European Union/European Agency for Reconstruction in Skopje, initially as deputy spokesperson, and later as spokesperson for the Agency.

Ademi’s working engagement also includes the OSCE, the National Democratic Institute (NDI) in the period 2000-2002.

Edmond Ademi is author of several publications:
- "Impotent Parliament - How to Improve It?", Published in January 2012.
- "Euroscepticism in Macedonia - a Real Threat or Bluff", published in September 2012.
- "Youth and Social Integration in Post-Conflict Societies", published in 2002.

He received several awards and awards, such as "Ambassador of Knowledge", a prize awarded by the Academy for Lifelong Learning, and the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology of the Republic of Slovenia in June 2016, as well as the prestigious American State Department Award - "Franklin Award" for exceptional contribution to the creation and improvement of more efficient work systems within the US Embassy in the Republic of Macedonia.
