Minister Janakieski meets Deputy PM Mihajlovic in Belgrade

Minister of Transport and Communications Mile Janakieski held Wednesday talks with Serbia’s Deputy PM and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Zorana Mihajlovic as part of the summit of heads of government of China and 16 Central and South-east European countries held in Belgrade.

The interlocutors discussed major infrastructural projects in the sphere of railways, first and foremost to improve conditions in passenger and cargo transport, as well as other issues of mutual interest, the Ministry of Transport and Communications said in a press release.

Both ministers vowed to make utmost efforts in a bid to complete the construction and modernization of Corridor X by 2016.

In January 2015, Janakieski announced, a bilateral treaty will be signed in connection to railroad cooperation to define border procedures for the Tabanovce-Presevo railway border crossing.

At the same time, Serbian Minister Mihajlovic voiced willingness toward further cooperation and exchange of positive experiences between the two ministries.

On his part, Minister Janakieski shared experiences surrounding implementation of the Law on Construction and the Law on Urban and Physical Planning.

“The meeting between the two ministers proves the favourable neighbourly and friendly relations between the two countries,” stated the press release.
