Nikola Dimitrov - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia.

Nikola Dimitrov as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, comes from the position of an external expert at the International Center for Legal Co-operation, The Hague, the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

In the period 2014 to 2017, he was a prominent member of the Hague Institute of Global Justice, and since 2011 has been a member of the Permanent Court for Arbitration in The Hague.

From 2009 to 2014 Dimitrov was an Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia to The Hague, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Macedonia to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.

2008 to 2011 - Co-representative of the Republic of Macedonia before the International Court of Justice (Application of the Interim Accord from 1995); 2007 to 2008 - Special Envoy of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration in Brussels, Kingdom of Belgium.

In the period 2006 to 2009, Nikola Dimitrov was National Coordinator for the integration of the Republic of Macedonia into NATO. Minister Dimitrov from 2003 to 2008 was a Special Envoy of the Republic of Macedonia in the talks for overcoming the name dispute with the Republic of Greece, under the auspices of the United Nations, and from 2001 to 2006, an Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia to Washington, USA.

From 2000 to 2001 he served as National Security Adviser to the President of the Republic of Macedonia. In 2000, Dimitrov was appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, and from 1996 to 2000, he worked as an Associate in the Department of Human Rights in the Directorate for Multilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia.

Nikola Dimitrov is a Ph.D. Candidate at the Institute for Security, Defense and Peace Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy at the "St. Cyril and Methodius" University. In 1998, he acquired a Master of Law Degree at the King’s College, University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.

In 1996 he graduated from the Faculty of Law at the "St. Cyril and Methodius" University in Skopje, as Best Student of Generation and was awareded "26th of July" prize of the Frank Manning Foundation.

Since 2016 Dimitrov has been Advisory Board member of EUROPEINC - Center for European Strategies, and since 2015 a member of the Balkans in Europe Policy Advisory Group, the European Fund for the Balkans and the Center for Southeast European Studies of the University of Graz. Member of the Management Board of the Foundation for Integrated Education in Skopje since 2015.

In 2012 he received a Certificate of Executive Education "John F. Kennedy" at the Harvard Keneddy School of Administration within the" Leaders in Southeast Europe" Programme. Since 1999 he has written numerous publications, analyzes and columns in domestic and international media.

1996 to 2001 - Demonstrator in International Law and International Human Rights Law at the Faculty of Law at the "St. Cyril and Methodius" University.

1993 to 1994 - Secretary of Education at the Union of Students at the "St. Cyril and Methodius" University.
