Павле Трајанов, Национален координатор за имплементација на Националната платформа за намалување на ризици од несреќи и катастрофи на Република Македонија

The Government of the Republic of Macedonia, at its 41st Session held on December 6, 2017, appointed Pavle Trajanov as National Coordinator for Implementation of the National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction.

Pavle Trajanov was born on December 25, 1952 in D. Radesh, Radovish. Graduated from the Faculty of Law, passed a bar exam, speaks English, Serbian, Bulgarian and Russian.

After graduating from the Faculty of Law, he was employed in the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 1977, where during his career he held the positions Head of the Sector for Security Analysis and Research, Under-Secretary of the Public Security Service, Assistant Minister of Operations Affairs, completing the career as Minister of Internal Affairs (1998-1999).

In 1989, along with seven members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (the so-called "Eight" from the RSIA) announced the democratic spring in Macedonia, advocating the introduction of a multi-party system, opposing the State Security Service to continue drumming fist of the Union of the Communists and be an instrument for eliminating political opponents. Pavle Trajanov, as part of the Eight in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, was actively involved in overcoming the deformations of the security services, as well as in the reform of the MoIA.

Pavle Trajanov, as Under-Secretary for Public Security, has made a significant contribution to the independence of Macedonia (1991-1993) and the fight against crime, corruption, especially in the fight against organized crime.

In the period 1991-1993, together with the leadership and members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Trajanov included the entire security system in support of the ideas for independent Macedonia.

Pavle Trajanov initiated, organized and conducted the most risky and most significant operation (in August 1991) for the seizure of military records on the reserve force of the Republican Secretariat of Defence, thus preventing tens of thousands of young reservists from being sent to the fronts in Yugoslavia.

Pavle Trajanov prepared the Agreement on JNA Dislocation (JNA's Withdrawal) from Macedonia, organized the security of the borders by the police and strongly opposed the JNA's ideas and plans for a military coup in Macedonia.

In 1994, Trajanov was the first to state that there is organized crime in Macedonia, which includes holders of public office positions, as well as ministers from the Government of the Republic of Macedonia.

In 1998-1999, he headed the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Internal Affairs Minister), while opposing the attempts to destabilize Macedonia and successfully dealing with the security crisis, extremism and terrorism, carrying out a thorough reorganization of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the introduction of a Counter Terrorism Centre, a Department for Fight against Organized Crime, Emigration Office, etc.

During 1999, under his leadership, Macedonia welcomed over 500,000 refugees from Kosovo, maintained the stability of the country, and prevented the Kosovo conflict from spilling over into Macedonia.

In January 2000 he initiated the formation of a new political party - a Democratic Union.

On March 19, 2000, at the Democratic Union's founding assembly, Trajanov was elected a DU Vice President.

From 2006 to 2017 he was an MP in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.

Pavle Trajanov is Honorary Doctor of the World Academy of Sciences of Complex Security, columnist in “Dnevnik”, gave over 320 interviews, participated in several debates, held over 350 press conferences, and more.

Among the other projects that he has prepared and submitted to the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia are the decriminalization projects "DECRI", which announce "war against the organized crime", as well as the Strategy for Phased Settlement of the Dispute imposed by the Republic of Greece over the name of the country.

Trajanov also proposed several laws to the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia, including the Law on protected witnesses, for a minimum salary, for exemption of the citizens from the obligation to pay heat energy if they do not use it, for amnesty, etc.

Pavle Trajanov was awarded and honoured, attended a number of seminars, courses and specialist trainings, including a seminar organized by the European Centre for Security Studies "George Marshall" in Germany and others.
