Hungarian National Trading House opens office in Skopje

Macedonia recently has yielded an exceptionally solid economic result. At the same time, it offers a chance to improve the current cooperation, especially between small and medium enterprises as a driving force to boost trade ties, Hungary's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjártó said Monday at the opening of an office of the Hungarian National Trading House in Skopje.

The objective of the Hungarian National Trading House, he added, is to create more effective and better partnership between the companies.

"Hungary's government is obliged to work on the improvement of the bilateral relations with Macedonia. In our foreign trade strategy, this country takes up a rightful place as it is being considered a partner of particularly importance," Szijjártó stated adding the two countries had been fostering excellent political relations. "Macedonia in every aspect can count on Hungary's support especially when it comes to EU and NATO membership."

Macedonian Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki said the opening of the Hungarian National Trading House was an additional confirmation of the excellent relations between both countries.

With Hungary, he added, we share the same vision - that of an open space, boosted cooperation, investments, trade and increased presence in the region.

"I'm convinced that the opening of a trading house in Skopje, seen as a wise decision by the Hungarian government, will intensify business contacts and strengthen the relations established between the business communities," Poposki noted.

Referring to the Euro-Atlantic and European integration of Macedonia, the Minister thanked for 'the principled and constant support on Hungary's part."

"Naturally, Macedonia belongs in the great European family, not only because of the geographical location, but also because it shares strong historical and cultural ties and values with many European countries. I believe that the next jubilee of this kind will be marked as two NATO and EU member-states," FM Poposki stressed.

He also mentioned the 20 anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Macedonia and Hungary. "Making joint efforts in the past two decades, we built friendly relations; we nourished a continuous and quite active political dialogue and formed a partnership in many areas."

The opening of the Trading House is part of a strategy prepared by the Hungarian government to improve the opportunities for Hungarian firms to be promoted on foreign markets. Hungary has already opened similar offices in Jordan, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, etc.

"The companies in Macedonia will use the chance to establish or enhance the already-established partnerships with firms in Hungary," urged Minister of Economy Bekim Neziri.
