The Government and the Association of Journalists of Macedonia (AJM) reached Friday agreement over full decriminalization.

Vice Premier for European Integration Teuta Arifi and AJM President Naser Selmani said at today's press conference that slander and insult will be removed from the Criminal Code, whereas the matter regulated in a separate civil law.

Penalties referring to possible cases upon charges submitted against journalists would be agreed in the coming period.

Today's meeting was also attended by Minister of Interior Gordana Jankuloska, Minister of Transport and Communications Mile Janakieski, Minister of Justice Blerim Bexheti, Minister of Information Society and Administration Ivo Ivanovski, Minister of Labor and Social Policy Spiro Ristovski, and AJM representatives.
