PM Gruevski: Government measures cut unemployment rate to record low
Macedonia's unemployment rate has been declining on regular basis as a result of the Government's measures for advancing the business climate that offer opportunity to companies to invest in the country and create jobs, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski told reporters on Thursday.
According to the State Statistical Office, the unemployment rate in the Q4 of last year dropped for 0.3 percent to 27.6%.
Presentation of opportunities for investing in Macedonia abroad, meetings with large companies and their management, engagement of the ministers in charge of attracting investors and the Agency for Foreign Investments, as well as economic promoters deployed in about thirty countries, have substantially contributed to regular cutting of the unemployment rate, Gruevski said.
He reaffirmed the measures for improving the business climate, such as the introduction of favorable tax policy and simplifying of the administrative procedures. A solid business climate is vital for attracting foreign companies to invest in Macedonia and create jobs, Gruevski said.
