German automotive company announces new investment in Prilep
Minister for Foreign Investments Bill Pavleski and Prilep mayor Marjan Risteski announced Wednesday a new investment in the southern Macedonian city by a German automotive company. The investment, estimated at several million euros, is expected to create 250 new jobs.
ACCOMPLAST GmbH is a company focused on high technology, according to Pavleski.
“Germany’s ACCOMPLAST specializes in plastic injection moulding of car parts and uses state-of-the-art technology. In addition to Germany, the company has also opened plants in England and the Czech Republic. They have decided to invest in Macedonia because the country offers favourable investment opportunities and qualified technical workforce,” Minister Pavleski stated.
One of the company’s managers Frank Michaelis said ACCOMPLAST had been scouting locations and plants in Prilep in the past several days.
“We have already established our new company here ‘Injection Moulding Prilep’ and now we are looking for an adequate plant for our machines and equipment. We will also use Prilep’s professional potential, which was one of the reasons for investing here. The municipality is also very helpful by providing its support,” Michaelis said.
The German company is expected to launch its production process within a year saying this brownfield investment could be soon turned into a greenfield investment after an adequate market research.
Mayor Ristevski said he believed this investment was of huge importance for Prilep and its region. “The investment will completely revive the local economy and open new jobs,” he noted.
