Gruevski: Daul supports Macedonia and expects opposition to return to parliament
Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski meets Thursday in Brussels with the President of the European People’s Party (EPP) Joseph Daul, who strongly supports the Republic of Macedonia, expressing his expectations that the opposition will return to the parliament
At the meeting which is held prior to EPP Summit Daul emphasised the importance from continuation of the reform processes in Macedonia and expressed his will to engage personally in supporting and assisting Macedonia to advance on the road to the EU integration.
At today’s meeting with the leader of the largest political group in the EU, I informed him on the developments in Macedonia related to “Coup” case details. He listened carefully and asked questions in this regard pointing out his views that Macedonian opposition should return to the parliament and all matters to be resolved there, Gruevski told MIA after the meeting.
Gruevski said that Daul said he would closely monitor the case developments, to be informed and if necessary to personally help in the future.
At the moment Gruevski participates in Brussels at the EPP Summit which is attended by EU and non-EU heads of state and government and opposition leaders of the European People's Party, along with the Presidents of the European Council and the European Commission - Donald Tusk and Jean-Claude Juncker.
