Gruevski: Macedonian Government adopts plan on EU integration reforms
The Macedonian Government, at its latest session, adopted a new plan to implement reforms for European integration focused on promoting the rule of law, changes to the electoral legislation, combating crime and corruption and media freedoms, with concrete measures, deadlines and goals that should be fulfilled, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski announced on Wednesday.
"We are acting in accordance to the needs and interests of all citizens, on promoting and accomplishing the European standards and start of deserved EU accession talks. At Tuesday’s session we have adopted a plan for new reforms for European integration. Besides ongoing reforms, this is new comprehensive and ambitious plan for which I believe will enable further progress. Plan based on our talks with EU and recommendations issued by the European institutions and experts focused on rule of law, freedoms, electoral legislation, combating crime and corruption. Precisely, with concrete measures, deadlines, holders of projects and goals that should be fulfilled. The entire government is engaged as well as special team of ministers who will meet several times in a week to prepare and to implement reforms for European integration.
Macedonia, he pointed, has the strength. Macedonia's place is in the European Union.
