Overhaul of Kumanovo hospital planned
The Health Ministry will invest over MKD 40 million (EUR 650,000) in reconstruction and equipment of the Kumanovo General Hospital, thus increasing the quality of the institution, which serves over 200,000 citizens in the region.
Minister Nikola Todorov said at Monday's press conference that the project for construction of a new Urgent Surgical Center within the hospital is being drafted, an investment worth over MKD 20 million (EUR 325,000), due to be completed by the end of 2016.
The Ministry has already announced a tender for the procurement of new equipment worth MKD 20 million (EUR 325,000).
Todorov expects these investments would significantly enhance the quality of healthcare services for citizens of Kumanovo and the region, who would not be sent for treatment to the Skopje clinics.
"The Ministry of Health is continually focusing on investments in new equipment and reconstruction of the health infrastructure as the pillar of quality healthcare", underlined Todorov.
