Fees for part-time workers annulled
Fees for part-time workers are annulled as of 1 August, following Government analyses, which have shown that several measures implemented in the meantime have exhausted the intended effects, said Vice Premier and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski on Wednesday.
The Government has passed the law changes over annulment of the obligation to pay healthcare and retirement insurance fees on part-time and moonlighting contracts.
"The changes are made as a result of other Government measures that have exhausted the intended effects in the meantime. Project 'Employing Macedonia' has resulted in transfer of about 4,000 individuals to full-time employment in the private sector over the past three months. The second measure has been the transformation of the job status of a number of persons who worked as part-time employees in the public sector to a full-time employment", said Stavreski.
A number of protests were staged after the Government introduced the measure at the beginning of the year.
"This shows we are listening when there is dissatisfaction among a large portion of the public. The Government is always open to other solutions", underlined Stavreski.
