PM Gruevski: Government earmarks EUR 7million for 'Free Textbooks' project
The 'Free Textbooks' project is resuming this year, but now those over five-year old will be replaced with new ones, which does not refer to math and natural sciences textbooks for seventh, eight and ninth grades. The Government has earmarked EUR 7 million for this purpose, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski told reporters on Thursday.
The project, being implemented for seven years in a row, has been a great assistance to over 200.000 families with school children.
"This year we shall replace the old textbooks with new ones for the primary and secondary schools. This does not include math and natural sciences textbooks for seventh, eight and ninth grades, which according to the action plan for introducing the Cambridge Education System, should be replaced next September," Gruevski said.
