Petrovec to get new kindergarten
Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, Minister of Labor and Social Policy Dime Spasov and Petrovec Mayor Borce Mitevski laid Saturday the cornerstone of a new kindergarten in the municipality.
The kindergarten, worth MKD 15 million (EUR 250,000), has the capacity to provide daycare for 80 children.
PM Gruevski voiced satisfaction from the fact there is a need to open new kindergartens throughout the country.
"This means there are more children and that the country is getting younger", he added.
Gruevski said the Government would continue to invest in all areas related to the parents' decision to have three, four or more children.
"In 2006, 9.6 percent of all children in Macedonia went to kindergarten, with the percentage rising to 26.6 in 2014. This is owed to the investments in new kindergartens and the trend will continue", stressed the PM.
Spasov said the ministry is fully committed to the project for opening of 40 new kindergartens.
"We have opened 31 kindergartens over the past 2,5 years. We are not stopping here and want to increase the number of such institutions in municipalities nationwide", he added.
