Egyptian companies interested in investing in Macedonia
Minister for foreign investments Bill Pavleski in Egypt has presented the investment opportunities offered to foreign companies in Macedonia. After showing an interest to invest in the country, some companies have announced plans to visit Macedonia.
During his visit, Pavleski held meetings and attended business forums with the managers of some of the top chambers of commerce in Egypt, including the federation of Egyptian chambers of commerce and the Canadian chamber of commerce in Egypt, the chambers of commerce in Giza, Kaliobeya and Alexandria and their members, the Minister’s cabinet said in a press release.
At the meetings, Minister Pavlevski presented the economic situation in Macedonia and the reforms implemented in an attempt to develop the economy and ensure a safe business climate for foreign investors. Moreover, he urged the chambers of commerce in the two countries to heighten their cooperation, share experiences and organize visits.
In addition to meetings with officials of the chambers of commerce and their members, the Macedonian Minister also met with esteemed businessmen from Egypt and the Arab world in general, including the CEO of Orascom Construction, which is part of the Orascom Group, the founder and CEO of Oriental Weavers, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of machine-made carpets, the CEO of the construction company Dal al Mimar and the owner of Polyserve, a company that manufactures fertilizers and chemicals.
During his visit to Egypt, Minister Pavleski held working meetings with Minister of Investment Ashraf Salman, Minister of Industry and Trade Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour, Minister of Finance Hani Qadri Demian and Minister of Agriculture Saleh El-Din Helal.
Interlocutors at the meetings shared views and concrete proposals on strengthening relations and improving cooperation in an effort to enhance business cooperation, trade exchange and cooperation in relation to investments, trade, agriculture and tourism, stated the press release.
