Three new foreign investment plants to open in September

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said that foreign investments continue to come into Macedonia, with three new factories expected to open in September and two more to begin construction. Gruevski said that bringing in increased foreign investment, using the free economic zones, remains the primary focus of the Government.

"In September the German company Technical Textile is expected to begin work in Stip, in a plant that, at full capacity, will provide 1.000 jobs, with a number of other jobs expected to open in companies that will gravitate around it. Italian printing machinery producer Diatec will also begin work in its plant in Skopje, with 250 jobs in September, together with a new Austrian plant being opened in Vinica. Simultaneously, we expect ODW Elektrik to begin the construction of its large plant in Ohrid which will add 1.000 jobs in this city. Another plant built by Kondevo, which will add 250 jobs, will begin construction in September, and by October or November we expect to see the Dubai based company Apple Land finish construction on its large distribution center in Resen", Gruevski said.

When completed, the Prime Minister added, these new production facilities would bring over 2.700 jobs.
