Gruevski announces construction of new facility of police station in Strumica

A new modern facility of the police station in Strumica will be constructed in 10 months, project worth €1.1 million funds provided by the state budget.

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski who on the Saturday attended the commencement of rehabilitation works of this building said that strong, modern and effective state institutions that can fully respond to its role and be at the forefront of the development of the country is one of government’s main objectives and priorities.

Unfortunately for many years a large number of state institutions worked in improvised conditions and because of this the state and citizens allocated huge amounts of money for facilities rentals.

That is why this Government undertook measures to thoroughly and systematically resolve this serious problem. In this regard over the years we have built new buildings for the Criminal Court, the Primary and Higher Public Prosecution Office, the new building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the new building of the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning and the Ministry of Finance. We have built many schools, kindergartens, sports facilities..., Gruevski underlined.

He noted that today’s start of the complete reconstruction of the old police building in Strumica for which the Government allocated 1,1 EUR million is done in order to resolve the problems of the state institutions.

After the reconstruction, several institutions will be moved here, as regional offices of the Property and Legal Affairs, the Public Revenue Office, the Agency for Real Estate Cadastre and the Office for management of registers of births, marriages and death, which would be much easier for the citizens when they want to obtain the necessary documents, Gruevski said.

Deputy PM and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski said that the project for rehabilitation of the old police building, is the initiative of a number of residents of Strumica and the fulfilment of the promises made during the election campaign.

The facility is significant for the 130 employees who will work in this modern building, built according to the highest energy standards and will have a good working space which will increase their motivation, which is an important factor in improving the quality of services, Stavreski said.

Gruevski also met the residents of Kuklish, who welcomed the construction of the irrigation system which will contribute to greater yields and lower costs.

Residents welcomed the decision of agricultural pensions and agricultural cooperatives, requested from PM Gruevski a location for construction of a distribution centre for agricultural products for which Gruevski obliged the Minister of Transport and Communications Vlado Misajlovski to engage in this problem.

Gruevski informed farmers who have suffered damage from the floods, after a telephone conversation with Finance Minister Stavreski that payment of damages will begin in 15 days.
