Banking sector can withstand worst euro zone scenarios: Financial Stability Committee
The banking sector is relatively well resistant and can withstand even the worst eurozone scenarios. Liquidity is exceptionally high and solvency is excellent, concluded the Financial Stability Committee at Friday's session, which focused on latest trends in the banking sector and possible effects of euro zone developments.
"The National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia presented all stress-scenarios. The banking sector has demonstrated resistance even to the worst one", said Governor Dimitar Bogov after the session.
According to him, the exceptionally high liquidity and excellent solvency provide security that the banking sector can withstand the hits and resume with the normal credit activity even in the worst euro zone scenarios.
