Autobiographies and monographs of famous individuals, sport, healthy living and nutrition, works on famous battles and wars, as well as architecture and design are the four fields within the new Government project, which was launched with the promotion of 20 titles on Saturday.

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said the project aimed at bringing the best and most wanted in global terms to Macedonia.

"Hundreds of new books within several capital projects have been promoted in recent years. This project represents a continuation of our investments in education and culture, knowledge, science, sport, youth and future in general. These areas remain one of the Government's main priorities in 2016", said the PM.

Readers will have the opportunity learn about the life and work of famous individuals, such as Mozart, Benjamin Franklin, Napoleon Bonaparte, Josip Broz Tito, Nikita Khrushchev, Steve Jobs etc.

The second field is sport and healthy living, which corresponds to the Government's efforts, campaigns and measures towards development of sports and healthy living habits.

Regarding the area of famous battles and wars, Gruevski said they would be beneficial for historians and academicians, but also the broad public.

Culture Minister Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska said it is a fact that rich editions in all walks of life have been published in Macedonia in recent years.

"Education and culture is enriched with permanent cultural, artistic and civilization values, citizens get the opportunity to expand their knowledge in fields of their interest, while young generations obtain literature that contributes to their professional development", she said.

The project is to be completed in 2018, including the translation and publishing of 400 works, of which 150 biographies, autobiographies, memoirs and monographs, 150 in the field of sport, healthy living and nutrition, 50 works on famous battles and wars, as well as 50 focusing on architecture, design, interior design, ornaments and sculpture. 

Проф.д-р Димитар Мирчев, осврнувајќи се на делата од едицијата „Познатите битки и војни во светската историја“, рече дека таа едиција на Министерството и на Владата, која е исто така дело на еден поширок круг на издавачи, автори, уредници, преведувачи..., без сомневање е еден зафат што заслужува големо внимание.

За делата од едицијата „Во светот на спортот и здравиот живот“ говореше деканот на Факултетот за физичка култура при Универзитетот „Св.Кирил и Методиј“, Вуица Живковиќ, кој рече дека тие се добро селектирани од европски и светски автори од доменот на спортот и здравиот живот кој ќе бидат добро четиво за читателите, професорите, студентите, спортската јавност.

- Тоа ќе биде еден голем поттик за нас како луѓе кои работиме во оваа фела и на овој начин ќе дадеме придонес да видиме до каде сме, каде сме добри, каде треба да се подобриме со цел да ја оствариме својата мисија за едукација на својот кадар, на нашите луѓе, на младите, но и на целата македонска јавност, додаде Живковиќ.

Проектот треба да заврши до 2018, а во негови рамки предвидени се превод и печатење на вкупно 400 дела. Според програма, 150 книги ќе бидат од областа на превод на биографии и автобиографии, мемоари и монографии за светски познати личности од повеќе области и исто толку од областа на спортот, здравото живеење и исхраната, а по 50 книги од областа на најпознатите битки и војни во историјата и од областа на архитектурата, дизајнот, внатрешното уредување, орнаментиката и скулптурата. На денешната промоција беа презентирани наслови само од првите три области.
