Caretaker PM Dimitriev meets Czech FM Zaoralek
Caretaker PM Emil Dimitriev held Wednesday a meeting with the Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic, Lubomir Zaoralek.
The excellent relations between Macedonia and the Czech Republic were praised, which are based on continued high dialogue and an upward trend of cooperation in all spheres of mutual interest.
Both Dimitriev and Zaoralek pledged to further improve economic cooperation, trade and cooperation with regard to investments.
The two interlocutors also noted the necessity of Macedonia becoming part of the EU and NATO.
PM Dimitriev expressed gratitude for the continuous support provided by the Czech Republic for Macedonia’s efforts to join the EU and NATO underscoring that Macedonia, despite the specific political situation it was facing, was pursuing the government’s reform agenda considering the integration process.
The interlocutors also discussed the challenges arising from the migrant crisis and ways to resolve it calling on the international community, especially the crisis-affected countries, to coordinate their activities.
Czech Minister Zaoralek acknowledged the role of Macedonia in the process offering his country’s readiness for cooperation on the matter.
Both interlocutors concurred that the current political situation in Macedonia needed to be resolved as soon as possible and that fair, credible and democratic elections should be held so as to provide a stable government, which would continue to pursue reforms.
Furthermore, Dimitriev informed his guests about the measures taken by the Macedonian government in organizing the upcoming elections on April 24 and said he was confident that the institutions would make utmost efforts in a bid to conduct all the necessary activities for a successful election process.
