Defense Minister Jolevski meets Hungarian Chief of Staff Benko
Enhancement of Macedonia-Hungary cooperation, joint training and exercises of both armies, Macedonia's NATO accession and challenges related to the migrant crisis were in the focus of Wednesday's meeting between Defense Minister Zoran Jolevski and Hungarian Defense Forces Chief of Staff, General Tibor Benko.
"Macedonia sees a sincere friend and supporter in Hungary, especially when it comes to the country's strategic objectives - EU and NATO accession", said Jolevski.
He voiced satisfaction from the bilateral cooperation, including intensive top-level meetings and the possibility of using Macedonia's army facilities for training.
Regarding the migrant crisis, Jolevski thanked Benko for Hungary's support and the readiness to establish a joint comprehensive and coordinated strategy.
"We are thankful to Macedonia and its army for what they have done in the migrant crisis management. We will continue to support the country on the road to full-fledged NATO membership. Stability of the Western Balkans is of enormous importance to us. Hungary's position is that Macedonia has deserved its place as Alliance full-fledged member", stressed General Benko.
