PM Dimitriev says sitting government has political, not technical mandate
The sitting government has a political mandate, it is not tasked with organizing elections, because no election date has been set. This government is focused on realizing its programme, Prime Minister Emil Dimitriev told reporters on Friday.
“I don’t know why the term technical government is used more. The law is very clear – a technical government, i.e. government in charge of organizing elections is formed 100 days ahead of elections. Prior to and after (elections), a political government is fully functional and focused on implementing the programme with which the elections have been won,” Dimitriev said after visiting the agency for financial support of agriculture and rural development.
