FM Poposki visits "I Love Macedonia" summer camp
Vice-Premier and Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki visited Saturday the "I Love Macedonia" summer camp for children of Macedonians living abroad.
The camp, taking place in Ohrid for the fifth year in a row, is part the Government's project 'Far Away, Yet Close', intended to raise the level of proficiency in the Macedonian language among persons belonging to the Macedonian national minority living abroad.
The camp contributes to improving the knowledge of the mother tongue among children of the target group and enhances the unity of Macedonians in neighbouring countries. The camp's program is also aimed at promoting Macedonia's cultural achievements, and more importantly at strengthening the cultural and national identity of Macedonians living beyond its borders.
Poposki presented notes of gratitude to the attendants of 2016 summer camp, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This year for the first time the camp will also open its doors to students of Macedonian origin from US, Australia and Europe," Poposki said.
For the last five years the camp has welcomed over hundred children from Macedonians living abroad.
