Skopje Clinic of Oncology gets new equipment
A new CT simulator was put into function Sunday at the Clinic of Oncology within the Mother Teresa Clinical Center in Skopje. The new instrument is expected to significantly boost the quality of services provided to patients treated for malignant diseases, said Minister of Health Nikola Todorov.
He said the ‘state-of-the-art’ equipment will replace an old simulator, which had been used for over 14 years. The new simulator is more precise and easy to use.
“The MKD 37.2-million equipment is the latest, state-of-the-art CT simulator in the country. Without it, this clinic cannot function because every patient that should be subject to radiation therapy needs to be examined by the CT simulator. The new simulator will handle 10-15 patients daily, which is quite enough to cover all the needs in the country,” Minister Todorov told reporters.
The old CT simulator, which is still functional, is planned to be moved to a hospital in Bitola.
