Macedonia's investment benefits presented in Switzerland
Conditions for running a business in Macedonia have been improved drastically by implementing over 30 systematic reforms and adopting modern legislative, according to a Macedonian government delegation, which presented the country’s investment opportunities to representatives of the Swiss Textile Federation in Zurich.
Deputy PM Vladimir Pesevski, who leads the government delegation, said that Macedonia as a result of the reforms ranked 10th in the latest Doing Business report of the World Bank out of 190 countries, owing to its conditions for opening and running a business. Macedonia has climbed 84 places up in the report in the past decade.
The government, he added, will continue to improve the business climate and to attract renowned and innovative companies, like the ones included in the Textile Federation of Switzerland.
Praising Macedonia’s conditions for running a business, the federation’s director said the countries should make efforts to intensify their contacts.
The Swiss Textile Federation has close to 200 members, i.e. domestic companies that mainly produce textile and garments used in several different sectors. The goods they export are estimated at 1.7 billion Swiss francs.
Later on Thursday, the Macedonian delegation will present the investment benefits at a business forum in Zurich.
