Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Ljupco Dimovski and his deputy Zoran Konjanovski Saturday met Tikves winegrowers in the frames of 'Open Days throughout Macedonia' event.

Main topic of discussion was payment of subsidies for grapes of last year’s crops, which was presented to competent institutions, and winegrowers demanded wine cellars to pay for the grapes at shortest possible time.

Minister Dimovski promised winegrowers that intervention will be made so they can get their money as soon as possible and will speed up the payment of subsidies for winegrowers.

We have been making efforts entire year to help winegrowers and wine cellars because they depend on each other. Besides subsidies we have additional support for winegrowers aimed at buying grapes of producers and to surpass the crisis in wine sector, Dimovski said.

Deputy Agriculture Minister Konjanovski said that government closely monitors the situation in winery sector aimed at finding solution both for winemakers and winegrowers.

New programmes are being prepared for support of agriculture and rural development by which this year the ministry will provide support to wine sector.
