Enhancement of healthcare, increased satisfaction of patients, raising quality of health services, modernization of equipment, education of doctors and overhaul of infrastructure are the main priorities of Health Minister Nikola Todorov in 2012.

He said activities towards improving the working conditions of doctors and their status would continue, along with the reconstruction of public health institutions.

"In this regard, the Health Ministry budget is to increase by 26.7 percent in 2012. Most of the funds are allocated for preventive and curative programmes, such as securing insulin for diabetes patients, rare diseases programme", Minister Todorov said.

Next year's procurements also include vaccines and methadone, along with training of health workers and implementation of other projects for improvement of healthcare in Macedonia.
