Defense Minister Fatmir Besimi and the Chief of ARM General Staff, Major General Goranco Koteski, formally set into work Friday a service station for the needs of the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade and units located at "Cede Filipovski-Dame" military barracks in Kicevo.

"Today we have been witnesses of several elements, namely that ARM and Macedonia are ready to join NATO, contributing in practice to the global peace by participating in peace missions, the excellent military-civil cooperation and ARM efforts on the ground to implement the 'smart-defence' concept, based on efficient resource management," Besimi said at the opening ceremony.

The Commander of the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Metodija Velickovski, said small amount of funds was spent for equipping the service station, also supported by several local institutions.

Representatives of the Defense Ministry, ARM General Staff, MPs and officials of local self-government also attend the opening ceremony.
