Prof. Renata Deskoska, Ph.D. - Minister of Education and Science of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia

Prof. Renata Deskoska was born on 03-05-1972 in Skopje, Macedonia.

Graduated from the Faculty of Law at the "St. Cyril and Methodius" University in Skopje in 1994 with average grade of 9.55/10.

Completed postgraduate studies with an average grade of 10.00/10, obtaining a Master's Degree on the topic "Types of Executive Power" in 1997, at the Faculty of Law in Skopje.

Prof. Deskoska obtained her PhD at the Faculty of Law in Ljubljana in 2002 on the topic "Constitutionalism, Constitutions and Human Rights, with case studies of the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Macedonia", thus acquiring the title PhD in Law.

In the period from 1995 to 1998, she was a demonstrator at the Faculty of Law - Skopje, and in 1999 was employed as an Assistant at the same faculty. In 2012, she was elected a full-time Professor in the scientific field Constitutional Law and Political System.

Elected Member of Parliament in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia in 2014 and 2016.

In the period 2015 to December 2016, Deskoska holds the position of Vice-President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia since September, and Head of the Delegation of the Republic of Macedonia to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. Since September 2015, as a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, she was also a member of the Ad hoc Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe for Monitoring the Parliamentary Elections in Bulgaria in 2017 and a member of the Ad hoc Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council Of Europe for Monitoring the Presidential Election in Serbia in 2017.

In 2012, upon a proposal by the Venice Commission, Prof. Renata Deskoka was elected a member of the ODIHR Advisory Panel of Experts on Freedom of Religion or Belief.

In the period 2008-2009, Deskoska was UNDP election consultant, and prior, in 2003-2004, a DIFID consultant.

In her professional capacity and experience, Deskoska was also engaged as domestic expert on the "Legal and Institutional Framework for Interethnic Dialogue (2009), member of the Working Group for the preparation of the" National Strategy for Integration of the Republic of Macedonia in the European Union "(2003), Advisor on Constitutional and Legal Affairs in the Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Macedonia (2004-2009) and a member of the Ad hoc Commission for Investigation of the Events of December 24, 2012.

Participated at about forty conferences, round tables and seminars. She has published 38 papers in English language and 14 papers in Macedonian language, and has taken part in over than 35 domestic and foreign projects.
