PM Gruevski meets Chinese Vice PM Liangyu

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and China's Vice Premier Hui Liangyu expressed satisfaction Thursday in Skopje with the excellent bilateral relations, based on friendship, mutual understanding and trust.

Gruevski briefed the high Chinese guest on Macedonia's activities for realization of its foreign policy strategic objectives - the EU and NATO membership.

Considering the country's economic development as one of its top priorities, Macedonia's Government is interested in bolstering the economic ties with China, Gruevski said at the meeting.

In spite of the unfavorable global trends, there are a lot of opportunities for boosting the bilateral cooperation, Gruevski said.

Chinese companies, he said, are welcomed in Macedonia, while the Government's reforms in numerous spheres should encourage more Chinese investments in the country.

Gruevski expressed satisfaction with today's signing of a memo of cooperation in the sphere of agriculture and a protocol of phytosanitary requirements for the export of tobacco from Macedonia to China.

Gruevski and Liangyu expressed readiness for further development of the political relations on both bilateral, multilateral level, as well as of the economic cooperation.
