PM Gruevski sends International Roma Day greetings
Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski sent a note of congratulations Friday to members of Roma community in Macedonia on the International Roma Day - April 8.
"On the occasion I wish to underline the significance and promotion of the rights of Roma people across the globe, and affirm the Government's commitment to providing conditions for progress of the members of Roma community in every sphere of their interest," the PM says in his note.
Macedonia sets an example for granting equal opportunities, rights and freedoms to its citizens, and Roma people take active part in and contribute to all processes in our society, he says. The Government will keep creating conditions for nourishing, advancing the Roma national and cultural identity.
"Providing favorable conditions for promoting your interests, advancing your progress in education, health care, employment and any other sphere, will remain in the focus of our strategy for developing a multi-ethnic society and coexistence. Extending my congratulations on the holiday, allow me to reaffirm the Government's commitment to further advancing of Roma integration into the Macedonian society".
