Jeton Shaqiri was born on March 17, 1987 in Struga, where he completed primary and secondary school education.

In 2005 he enrolled at the Faculty of Economics at the State University of Tetovo, where he graduated in 2008.

In 2008 he enrolled in postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Economics at the International University of Struga, where in 2010 he defended his Master's thesis and obtained a Master's degree in Economics.

In 2010 he enrolled in doctoral studies at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tirana, Republic of Albania, where on September 16, 2016 he defended his doctoral dissertation entitled "Banking Supervision and Challenges in the Implementation of Basel II and Basel III in R. Macedonia. (An analysis based on the lessons learned from the 2008-2009 financial crisis)."

Shaqiri’s experience as a lecturer of a group of economics subjects started at a very young age.

In the period September 1, 2008 to November 12, 2010 as a Junior Assistant he was an associate in a group of subjects in the field of economic sciences at the Faculty of Economics at the International University of Struga.

From November 12, 2010 to December 6, 2013 as an assistant he was an associate in a group of subjects in the field of economic sciences at the Faculty of Economics at the International University of Struga.

From December 6, 2013 to November 29, 2016 he was hired as an assistant doctoral student at the same faculty.

Until November 29, 2016, he was an Assistant Professor in a group of subjects in the field of economic sciences at the Faculty of Economics at the International University of Struga.

In the period from September 2009 to June 2018, he was the head of undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the International University of Struga.

Shaqiri exhibited his managerial skills in the successful management of MJP "Proakva" - Struga and PE "Water and Sewerage" - Struga.

He was Director of MJP "Proakva" in Struga from June 2018 to December 2019, while from January to August 2020 he was Director of PE "Water and Sewerage" - Struga.

Jeton Shaqiri serves as a Minister of Information Society and Administration in the second term of the Government led by the Prime Minister Zoran Zaev since August 30, 2020.

Since January 16, 2022 he is Minister of Education and Science.

In the period 2008 to 2016 he was a member of the organizing board of several international scientific gatherings. He participated in many professional trainings and conferences.

Jeton Shaqiri is the author of several professional papers in the field of economics and finance.

He speaks Albanian, Macedonian and English.
