The President of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovachevski had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denis Simigal and expressed North Macedonia’s support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.
PM Kovachevski conveyed that the Republic of North Macedonia condemns the decision of the Russian Federation for recognition of the Ukrainian regions Donetsk and Luhansk as so-called People’s Republics.
During the telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Ukraine, PM Kovachevski said that Russia’s action was a direct attack over the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. Moreover, he added that it was a flagrant violation of the international law.
Kovachevski said to Simigal that North Macedonia support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine in its internationally recognized borders and that, as all other NATO member-states, it joins the appeal to Moscow for resolution of the conflict via peaceful and diplomatic channels.
The President of the Government Kovachevski during the talk confirmed that North Macedonia complies with the foreign and security policy of both EU and NATO regarding the sanctions towards the Russian Federation as a response to its unprincipled actions.
