Macedonia, Lithuania sign agriculture cooperation protocol
Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy Ljupco Dimovski and Lithuanian counterpart Kazimieras Starkevicius have signed a cooperation protocol as the foundation for enhancement and enlargement of bilateral relations in the sector.
The five-year protocol is set to contribute to the increase of trade exchange of agriculture and food products, especially fresh vegetables and fruits and their processings from Macedonia, as well as milk and dairy products from Lithuania.
Moreover, cooperation in the Euro-integration processes in the fields of agriculture and rural developments will also enlarge, along with fisheries and aquaculture, through exchange of experiences, know-how transfer and other forms of technical assistance towards strengthening Macedonia's administrative and institutional capacities.
A steering committee will be established in the coming month, comprised of six representatives from each country, tasked to monitor and stimulate the implementation of projected cooperation.
