PM Gruevski meets Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region
Possibilities for bolstering the economic ties between Macedonia and Hong Kong was the main topic of Friday's meeting of Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and Donald Tsang, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
The talks tackled the drafting of double taxation and investment protection agreements, which would create a favorable climate for dynamic economic cooperation.
Gruevski briefed Tsang about ongoing reforms and favorable conditions in Macedonia for potential investors to do business in the country.
Tsang on his part referred to Hong Kong's potential for trade exchange and investment in various spheres, above all in the service and investment sectors.
Gruevski and Tsang also discussed the possibilities for exchange of and providing scholarship for students, as well as for sharing experiences for improving the business climate.
Today, the Macedonian delegation, led by PM Gruevski visited the Hong Kong stock exchange, the fifth largest in the world, and held talks with its Independent Non-executive Chairman Chow Chung Kong.
The delegation also had a meeting with Andrew Wong, permanent secretary for Commerce and Economic Development.
