FM Poposki meets Canadian Ambassador Waschuk

Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki held talks Thursday with Belgrade-based Canadian Ambassador to Macedonia Roman Waschuk.

Poposki and Waschuk agreed that there was a mutual, long-term interest in further bolstering of the political dialogue, cooperation between Macedonia and Canada, especially the economic one, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.

In this respect, the interlocutors shared opinions on possibility for advancing the bilateral legal frame by signing agreements on economic cooperation as soon as possible, including the one, initiated by Macedonia, on air traffic with Canada.

The talks paid special attention to Macedonia's foreign policy priorities in terms of the country's NATO integration.

Poposki thanked Canada on its support of Macedonia's Euro-Atlantic integration. He expressed belief that Canada would grant further, stronger support to Macedonia within the Alliance, the press release reads.
