Saraqini: Energy state in Macedonia is stable
Energy situation in Macedonia is stable and the Government is monitoring all global activities and energy trends, said Economy Minister Valon Saraqini prior to the beginning of Friday's event on the 20. anniversary of the Macedonian Energy Association (ZEMAK).
"We are currently focusing on the renewable energy sources due to the defined Energy Community criteria that 21 percent of total energy consumption by 2020 comes from renewable sources. I expect Macedonia to achieve this objective, along with the attraction of more investors in this field", said Saraqini.
According to him, investors show interest for the construction of photovoltaic plants, biomass, bio-gas etc.
"Five small hydro plants have been built, with five more to be completed by the year-end. Next year we will put additional 24 sites for small hydro plants at a tender. Moreover, we expect the start of operations of hydro plant Sveta Petka, a contractor for Boskov Most, a final response for Cebren and Galiste, and we also completed the pre-feasibility study for Vardarska Dolina", added the Minister Saraqini.
ZEMAK chairman Risto Janevski, who is also a representative of oil refinery OKTA, said the refinery operates without any problems.
"The oil market in Macedonia is stable. OKTA has sufficient quantities to supply the country's market, but also distributors in Kosovo and Serbia", emphasized Janevski.
