Promotion of 24 new books, part of Translation of 1,000 Books project

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, Minister of Education and Science Pance Kralev and Skopje University Rector Velimir Stojkovski attended Sunday a promotion of 24 new books in the field of biotechnology, architecture and construction.

The books are part of the government-led project for translation of 1,000 reference books and textbooks used in top universities in the United States and Great Britain.

654 books have been translated to date and are now available to the Macedonian public.

"The books promoted today will be of great significance for the educational system and scholars and for the development of architecture, construction and biotechnology," PM Gruevski said.

I believe, he added, that these books as well as those previously promoted will become part of social interest as they will be included in classes at faculties across Macedonia.

"The more people draw knowledge from them, the bigger are the effects for our country and the experts in Macedonia," Gruevski stated.

Minister Kralev said that people by being better educated, were becoming wiser and more capable to address everyday challenges.

"The book has always been and is a window to experience the world. These books for students and for the citizens have a special value, because they are used by students at top universities worldwide. They represent a motivation for students to upgrade their education," he emphasized.
