PM Gruevski: Cyprus to keep promoting EU open-door policy

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski expects for Cyprus, the new holder of the European Union's rotating Presidency, to keep promoting the organization's open-door policy.

"Practically the EU Presidency holder doesn't play a vital role in decision-making. However, I expect fair and decent cooperation with Cyprus, which is to be the presidency holder for the next six months," Gruevski told reporters on Sunday in Tetovo State Univerity after a promotion of 17 new titles, part of the Government project for translation of 1,000 reference books and textbooks used at top universities in the United States and Great Britain.

He expected recognition of Macedonia's achievements on the road to the EU and NATO membership, which due to well-known reasons, namely Greece's objection, could not be realized at the moment.
