PM Gruevski: Progress in High-Level Accession Dialogue

Realization of the High-Level Accession Dialogue is developing well and I hope progress will be noted at September's meeting with Enlargement Commissioner, Stefan Fule, said Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski on Tuesday.

"We reviewed all steps in detail, stressing the progress achieved, but also, what remains to be done in the future. I can conclude that things move in the proper direction and I hope progress will be noted at the next High-Level Accession Dialogue meeting in September, when we expect Commissioner Fule", Gruevski told reporters after putting into use a new sports center in Skopje settlement Novo Lisice.

He met late Monday with European Commission's Director General for Enlargement Stefano Sannino, with talks focusing on the operational roadmap.

"The meeting was useful for both sides. He paid a working visit in order to see developments between the two high-level accession dialogue meetings", stressed PM Gruevski.

According to him, the country would continue to work towards achieving progress through reforms and modernization.

"This is done not just for the sake of the commitments we have undertaken, but because it is good for the Republic of Macedonia. It improves the quality of life and guides the country forward", added Gruevski.

With regards to the coming visit of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon and envoy in the name talks ,Matthew Nimetz to Skopje, Gruevski said the Government was prepared for talks.
