Coal transport system Brod Gneotino-Suvodol put into use
Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski put into use the main coal transport system from Brod Gneotino to Suvodol mines, a Macedonian Power Plants (ELEM) project worth EUR 18,6 million, in mine-energy combine (REK) "Bitola" on Saturday.
The coal transport system is 10km long, with a capacity of 3,800 tonnes per hour.
"This transportation system completes a large investment, encircling the production process in new mine 'Brod Gneotino', linking the mines and thermal plant Bitola. The process secures stable future, developing perspectives and continual operation of REK Bitola in the next 25-30 years', said PM Gruevski.
He stressed the Government continued with investments in new capacities, as well as overhaul of existing facilities in the energy sector.
"Hydro plant Sv.Petka will be put into use very soon, six hydro plants are being reconstructed, along with ongoing activities towards realization of projects 'Wind Farm' in Bogdanci, Boskov Most and Lukovo Pole. This clearly demonstrates our commitment towards revitalization, enlargement and enhancement of Macedonia's energy system", said Gruevski.
He congratulated ELEM and company "ThyssenKrupp" for the project's implementation, along with several sub-contracting firms.
