Minister of Culture visits archaeological site Stobi
Minister of Culture Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska visited Wednesday the archaeological site of Stobi to get informed about the completed and ongoing projects of this national institution.
"The whole site is being systematically excavated with government funds, which has also singled out finances for many archaeological sites," Minister Kanceska-Milevska said.
It is of utmost importance that Stobi has become a national institution for the promotion of Macedonia's state, culture and cultural heritage, according to her.
Intensive archaeological diggings and conservation and restoration activities in several facilities have taken place recently. Many facilities dating from the 6th century, temples and other archaeological relics have been discovered. Most of them will be displayed in the new archaeological museum.
"With finances from the Ministry of Culture and the Government and with grants and funds outside Macedonia, we have managed to do a lot for Stobi and the results are obvious," the Minister concluded.
