Grand Prix for Cultural Management presented to Minister Kanceska-Milevska
The prestigious Grand Prix award for Cultural Management, which is presented by the Romanian International Academy “Mihai Eminescu”, was awarded Thursday to the Culture Minister Elizabeta Kanceska–Milevska in the Miladinov Brothers Memorial House in Struga.
Ion Deaconescu, president of the International Academy “Mihai Eminescu”, presented the award to Ms. Kanceska-Milevska, saying that Macedonia's cultural and spiritual heritage has always been a part of the global civilization. In this respect, he mentioned the alphabet of Cyril and Methodius, the church, monastery frescoes dating from the XIII century and the testimonies and educational materials of the first university in Europe - the one in Ohrid.
“The award is of great significance for Macedonia and its culture”, Ms. Kanceska–Milevska said. “It is an additional impetus for Macedonia to keep promoting its culture and cooperate with the countries in the region”, she added.
The Grand Prix award is presented every year to individuals that made outstanding contributions to culture on national and international levels.
