Platform for development of companies and innovations provides Euro 145 mln for W. Balkan companies

Macedonian companies will have 145 million euros at their disposal, which are intended for innovations and better growth. Funds will be available in the first quarter of 2013 through the regional project "Platform for Development of Companies and Innovations".

This was stated by Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Vladimir Pesevski at a round-table debate in relation to the project, which was organised on Thursday in Skopje by the Government of Macedonia, the EU Delegation and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

Funds are intended for investing in innovative and start-up companies, in already established companies with a high growth potential, to support companies while withdrawing finances from traditional sources and for support in the implementation of regulatory reforms for all countries that participate in the project.

All countries involved in the project will get technical assistance to define and implement their priorities.

The platform, which brings together Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia, BiH, Montenegro, Albania and Kosovo, aims at improving the business climate to create, attract and use new financing sources.
