Johnson Matthey gets A-Integrated Environmental Permit
"Johnson Matthey" company was granted Thursday with A-Integrated Environmental Permit in accordance with the Law on Environment.
Awarding the permit, Vice PM Vladimir Pesevski said it was another step manifesting that the company was meeting the standards at local and international level.
"Everyone in Macedonia is well aware of the name 'Johnson Matthey'. It is the most sophisticated company and the first one to probably penetrate the barrier of overall export of over 500 million euros in 2012 or 2013," Pesevski stated.
For us, he added, it is important the companies located in the free economic zones to fully respect state requests in relation to environmental standards.
"The Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning grants the permit to 'Johnson Matthey' after determining that all conditions for obtaining an integrated environmental permit have been met. It regulates activities in connection to environment protection," Environment Minister Abdulaqim Ademi noted.
Company's project director Jatin Thakrar said that the environmental permit was a crucial step in the business. "The permit reflects the great success the company has in Macedonia," he concluded.
