The second Youth House SOS Children's Village opened
Fourteen youth without parental care aged 14 to 18 will live in Youth House SOS Children's Village opened today in Bardovci, municipality of Karpos.
The Youth House, in which will live seven boys and seven girls, is the second stage in children cares that SOS children's villages practice, to support children entering the adolescent stage and have different needs for independence through learning practical life skills and greater responsibility and care for their own needs and future.
Minister of Labor and Social Policy Ristovski reminded the measures taken by the state for improvement of the quality of life of these children and young people and the measures of support for easier integration into society. He pointed out the financial assistance of 180 thousand denars after the age of adulthood and leaving institutions, financial assistance of 4,000 or 5,600 denars if they regularly attend school, 9000 denars for students who enroll masters or doctoral studies for the first time and 18 thousand if they do not use a rented flat.
Recently, said Mr. Ristovski, the Government adopted a new measure - each child without a parental care to get an apartment from the state, the government has decided at least 10 percent of the apartments built by the JSC for construction and management of residential and commercial space to be allocated for that purpose.
The concept of SOS Children's Villages operates sixty years in 133 countries worldwide.
