FM Poposki meets RCC Secretary General Svilanovic

Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki met Wednesday in Skopje with Goran Svilanovic - the new Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), based in Sarajevo.

Talks focused on issues in relation to further development and improvement of regional cooperation and on current developments in the region as well as the joint progress made toward European and Euro-Atlantic integration, MoFA says in a press release.

In particular, Svilanovic was interested in Macedonia's current agenda and priorities involving the SEECP presidency up until June 2013, which have been aiming at improving regional cooperation.

FM Poposki voiced Macedonia's strong wish to build good neighbourly ties and initiate concrete projects having great significance for the region.

Interlocutors at the meeting vowed to boost the communication while preparing the new RCC working program for 2014-2016.

The future opportunities and plans of the RCC Secretary General as well as his role in allocating funds for projects characterized with broad regional application were discussed at the meeting as well, reads the press release.
