The Prime minister and VMRO-DPMNE leader, Nikola Gruevski, is still the most favoured politician, enjoying the support of 20 percent of the respondents, followed by DUI leader Ali Ahmeti – 8%; Strumica Mayor (SDSM) – 5%; SDSM leader Branko Crvenkovski – bellow 5%; President Gjorge Ivanov – 4% and DPA leader Menduh Tachi  – 2%.

Fifty-eight percent of the respondents believe consider Macedonia is closer to the European than four years ago against 23%.

The citizens' support of Macedonia's accession to the EU and NATO is at 84 and 87 percent, going down for 3 and 4 percent respectively.

Ruling VMRO-DPMNE enjoys the highest rating among political parties, namely 27 percent, followed by opposition SDSM - 13%; DUI - 11% and DPA -4%, according to a poll of the International Republican Institute, conducted in the second half of November.

In comparison to previous polls, the VMRO-DPMNE rating is stable, while the one of SDSM is declining from 16 to 13%. It is also the case with DUI, while the one of DPA goes down for one percent.

Twenty-seven percent of respondents declare themselves as undecided.

The poll is conducted throughout the country on a sample of over 1,000 respondents.
