Minister of Education and Science Pance Kralev opened Thursday conference "What have we achieved and what do we have to achieve regarding education of Roma until the end of the Decade of Roma Inclusion?".

The conference reviewed achieved results in the field of education, compared to the results envisaged in the Action Plan.

"In the past couple of years, the Ministry and the Roma Education Fund have successfully realized the project for scholarships and tutoring of high school Roma students", said Minister Kralev.

According to him, the Government's project on free instruction high school books has also contributed to the increase of Roma children in the education process.

"The issue of Roma education is one of the Government's priorities", underlined Kralev.

The rate of enrolled Roma elementary school pupils has reached 83 percent, whereas the number of Roma high school students is much lower (19%).

In addition, only two percent of Roma students have enrolled at universities.
